RESEARCH

primary research- pictures of hometown

hometown logo-

When I was researching for a logo for Edgware, I noticed I couldn't find one. This means that i wanted to make one myself and make the first one for Edgware as it does not have one. I wanted to make one very basic because I believe that it doesn't need to be too advanced as it is only just a logo for Edgware.

When i was making the sketch for  the logo i thought that i should also add the new slogan to the logo to make sure everyone knows it. I also added the tree because in my opinion one of the main things you think about when you think of edgware is its many parks so the tree symbolises that

This is my final logo for Edgware. It was the first logo for edgware as it currently doesnt have a logo. I added a tree and the slogan i made. I also put the name in bold at the top to make it stand out very clearly/

The Slogan of Barnet is 'UNITAS EFFICIT MINISTERIUM' which is Latin for Unity Accomplishes Service. This was quite an old slogan and the fact it was still in Latin meant that it needed to be changed to be more relatable to the children and the people of Edgware. I changed it to Togetherness is key as it is very simple and it is also very easy to remember as well. It helps people think that its good to be with one another and to always stick together.

Edgware is served by the Edgware Bus Station, which serves as a place for various bus routes. These buses provide connections to numerous parts of the city, including central London, Brent Cross Shopping Centre, and Wembley Stadium. Edgware is also well-connected to the rail network. The nearby Cricklewood railway station provides services to London Euston and Watford Junction, offering convenient connections to other parts of the UK. The Midland Main Line also serves Edgware, providing direct connections to cities such as Nottingham, Sheffield, and Leicester.

In Edgware, TFL provides a reliable and very efficient public transport network. In Edgware, the London Underground operates a tube station which offers access to the northern line. From the northern line, you can visit places in central London such as Leicester Square and London Bridge. The end of the northern line, it takes you to Morden which is south London. This shows that the transport in Edgware is very good because it can take you around all over London from just one tube station. Buses from Edgware bus station can go to Watford, Borehamwood, Hatfield, New Barnet, Arnos Grove, Wood Green, Brent Cross, Central London, Kilburn, Alperton, Sudbury and Harrow. This shows the variety of places that you can travel to without a car instead of using an easy transport network.

SURVEY

For the survey we can see that people liked my ideas better than the current status for my hometown. This gave me ideas as I now had ideas from others to help me improve on my work. For the slogan you can see that people preferred my slogan to the current one meaning my one was better slogan that fits for Edgware and it should be changed to my one. It also helped with thinking that if i should keep that slogan or change it to something else however i was told that it was good so i kept it. For the colour scheme too the survey says that my colour scheme was better so it gave me an idea to change it.
